Meet Dr. Katie
Dr Katie Rafferty is dedicated to offering comprehensive eye care services and adopts a multidisciplinary approach to complex eye problems. After completing her medical degree at UCT, she spent her years as a registrar at the eye clinics at St John’s, Charlotte Maxeke and Helen Joseph Hospitals.
Her consulting rooms are at the West Rand Eye Centre and she has surgical privileges at the Johannesburg Eye Hospital.
Dr Katie works closely with other health professionals such Optometrists, General Practitioners, Physicians, Neurologists and Rheumatologists, to name a few.
Her fields of interest include: Cataract surgery, Diabetic eye care, Glaucoma, Macular degeneration treatment, Oculoplastics, Keratoconus, Treatment of dry eye and Blepharitis.
Dr Katie uses state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose and treat eye conditions.
Katie grew up in Newcastle, KZN. Her father is a veterinarian and farmer, her mom is an entrepreneur, teacher and author. Katie is happily married to Clinton and they have 2 daughters and 2 dogs. She loves travelling, the outdoors and spending time with loved ones.
